#PoemADay – Day 1

To Run as a Deer

Anyone can fly,
float around with their head
in the clouds,
reach Samadhi

Anyone can dance,
feel the earth ‘tween their toes,
walk their walk,
the daily grind

But to run
through the woods,
through the fields,
as a deer…

Ah, to run as a deer
with feet that barely
touch the ground,
wide-eyed,
tasting the wind.
